Belarc Advisor
Install & run Belarc Advisor which will examine your system’s hardware & software and display a report in a web browser window. You can save this report by clicking on File, then Save As (or Page, then Save As) in the Internet Explorer menus when the report is displayed. (For a more complete list of instructions, click on the link below). If you email the saved report to support@markreynolds.com.au, the information in the report can be utilised to determine what needs to be taken into account in upgrading your computer or connecting it to your business network and server.

Lavasoft Ad-Aware
Lavasoft Ad-Aware is highly regarded by many as one of the easiest to use free anti-spyware programs that will scan for and automatically remove spyware infections from your computer.

MalwareBytes Anti-Malware
MalwareBytes Anti-Malware has a less intuitive interface than LavaSoft Ad-Aware, but it is very effective at removing malware, and in some cases detects & removes malware infections that are not detected by LavaSoft Ad-Aware.

McAfee Security-as-a-Service
McAfee Security-as-a-Service provides monitored anti-spyware, anti-virus, firewall, & browser protection software on an annual subscription basis.
McAfee Security-as-a-Service checks for updates every four hours. Unlike most other security software, it not only updates the malware definitions (information the software uses to identify and deal with the latest threats), but it also upgrades the software program itself as new versions are developed. Most other security programs are locked into the version that was initially installed, and can only be “upgraded” by downloading and installing (and in many cases, paying for) the latest version.
McAfee Security-as-a-Service has the added advantage of providing monitoring reports allowing Mark Reynolds IT Consulting to be aware of any malware problems with your computers and contact you to determine any necessary further steps to take.

If you need to uninstall McAfee Security-as-a-Service (either to remove it completely, or to clean up a faulty installation before re-installing the software), run the following uninstallation utility:
Run McAfee Security-as-a-Service Uninstallation Utility
Click on the above link & select Run when prompted. The utility will uninstall the McAfee Security-as-a-Service software. It usually takes about 5 minutes to run, and might appear to be doing nothing at times, but will eventually force a reboot of your PC, after which the McAfee Security-as-a-Service software should be completely removed. You can then either reinstall McAfee Security-as-a-Service or install other security software of your choice.
