Maintenance
Your PC will be considerably more likely to continue to operate at it’s best efficiency if you take steps of pro-active maintenance – that is, having your computer “serviced” on a regular basis (much like you have your vehicle serviced) rather than waiting until something goes wrong.
Typical maintenance measures include:
- ensuring all operating system updates are installed
- ensuring all application software updates are installed
- ensuring security software programs such as anti-virus, anti-spyware, and firewalll software are up-to-date
- running tests on the hard drive file system
- defragmenting the hard drive’s file system, Master File Table, and paging file for maximum efficiency
- optimsing the operating system’s registry by removing unnecessary redundant entries and defragmenting the registry’s component files
- running anti-spware & anti-virus scans
- taking any corrective action resulting from any of the above tests
If you would like to have your computer pro-actively & routinely maintained before problems occur (believe me, it’s far more involved & costly to fix things after something’s gone wrong), contact me to arrange a maintenance inspection of your computer.
